Gang Show
Letchworth and Baldock District Gang Show in 2009 performed their 44th annual Show at St Francis Theatre in Broadway, Letchworth.
The Gang Show is essentially a variety show consisting of songs, sketches and dancing, both modern and traditional that is performed by young members involved in Scouting and Guiding in the Letchworth and Baldock area.
We are proud to boast that we do not hold auditions and welcome anyone who is involved in the movement in our Districts to take part. The average age of the youngsters involved in the Show is usually about 11 years old. This year we had a cast of 89.
Rehearsals usually start after October half term and we rehearse weekly until the Show which is usually just before Easter.
The Show is fully supported by both Scout and Guide Districts and is run by a team of Scouting and Guiding leaders and helpers. The producer/director David Strong has been involved in Scouting for nearly 20 years and has been both a Scout Leader and a Group Scout Leader, this year’s show was his 6th as Producer.
