Scout Network

All members of The Scout Association between 18 and 25 years are automatically members of the Scout Network.

Local Networks, can be based at County, District or Group; some may be focused around a specific activity or location, e.g. Gang Show, Activity Center climbing or canoeing.

Scout Network programmes will reflect the huge variation in Members' interests. Some local Networks will have activities that concentrate on one area of the programme, whilst others will have a wider range. one of the key elements is the opportunity to get away, either under canvas or in other accommodation.

Information from Scoutbase

BALiNetwork, stands for Baldock and Letchworth in Network.
However, BALIN was also a character out of the Hobbit and The Lord Of The Rings who's first line just happened to be "I'd rather have a small beer" and he prefers beer over anything else, which we though was quite fitting.
Now, in the books, Balin was always suppose to be the wearer of a red cape. It is because of this that we choose to wear red shirts. Also, our logo represents Balin himself.

What do we do?

We're currently still in the process of getting up and running, and to help us with this we need as much help as we can. Since BALiN started, many many moons ago, we've been having regular meeting pulling in between 4 and 14 people but desperately want more people to come along. Running an action packed programme is easy with lots of people, but hard if you can’t guarantee numbers.
