2017 St George's Day Parade in Letchworth
Apr 02, 2017
On the afternoon of Sunday 23rd April, over 400 Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorer Scouts, members of the Scout Network and of Active Support, plus adult Leaders from Letchworth & Baldock District and local dignitaries will celebrate scouting with a parade through Letchworth town centre, followed by a short celebration in Broadway Gardens.
District Commissioner, Tony Hartley said "St George is the patron saint of Scouting and this is our opportunity to come together and demonstrate our commitment to the ideals and ethos of Scouting: including renewing the promise we each took when we joined the Scout movement"
The parade will form up in Howard Gardens at 2:15 and parade along Norton Way North, Station Road and Broadway before assembling in Broadway Gardens for songs, a performance by The Imajica Theatre and a collective renewal of promises. The parade will be dismissed at 4PM after singing the National Anthem.
Parents, supporters and members of the public are encouraged to line the route and show their support for our members as they proudly parade through the town with their flags and banners.
